Thermal Bypass Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair) .




3. Release and slide the thermal bypass pipe hose clamps (2) away from the hose connections.
4. Remove thermal bypass hose (1).



Installation Procedure

1. Apply engine coolant to the bypass hose in order to ease installation.




2. Install the thermal bypass pipe hose (1).
3. Position the thermal bypass pipe hose clamps (2) over the hose end connections.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 GE 47716 Fill) (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
