Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 1

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
3. Remove the HO2S from the exhaust manifold.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Silicone based products will contaminate the HO2S. Use only a nickel based anti-seize compound that does not contain silicone.

1. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the HO2S.

Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution (Component Fastener Tightening Caution).

2. Install the HO2S to the exhaust manifold.

Tighten the HO2S to 42 Nm (31 lb ft).

3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the HO2S. Push in the connector until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
