A/T Selective Washer - Revised

Subject: NEW DESIGN SELECTIVE WASHER - 1982 AND 1983 THM 200C AND 200-4R
Beginning in late March, 1983, a new design selective washer went into production that is used on the following parts:
^ Turbine Shaft To Output Shaft - THM 200C
^ Forward Clutch Shaft To Output Shaft - THM 200-4R
These parts are made from a different material and can be identified as shown (see illustration)...
When servicing any THM 200C or 200-4R transmission that necessitates the replacement of the selective washer due to wear or damage, use the following service procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the two shafts for wear or damage on the selective washer mating surfaces. If wear or damage is found, replace the shafts to prevent future wear.
2. Select the proper selective washer from the chart below:

3. Check the front end play to verify the proper washer selection following procedures outlined in your Service Manual. Front end play should be 0.56 mm to 1.30 mm (0.022 to 0.051 in.).
