Subject: PRODUCT EMISSION CAMPAIGN 82-C-10 RESTRICTED CATALYTIC CONVERTER
VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE AND GRAND PRIX WITH 4.1 LITER V-6 ENGINE (VIN CODE 4)
General Motors has determined that some 1982 Pontiac Bonneville and Grand Prix models may develop a restricted catalytic converter resulting in poor engine performance or a no-start condition.
To prevent the possibility of this condition occurring on the involved vehicles, the catalytic converter will require replacement.
VEHICLES INVOLVED
Involved are certain 1982 Pontiac Bonneville and Grand Prix models equipped with engine and emission systems described within the following vehicle breakpoints:

Vehicles that have had the catalytic converter replaced with Part Number 25056620 converter are not involved in this campaign.
DEALER CAMPAIGN RESPONSIBILITY
Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this campaign at no charge to owners, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, from this time forward.
Whenever a vehicle subject to this campaign is taken into your used vehicle inventory or it is in your dealership for service in the future, you should take the steps necessary to be sure the campaign correction has been made before reselling or releasing the vehicle.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
Owners of vehicles involved in this campaign, as records available to Pontiac Motor Division indicate, will be notified by Pontiac Motor Division (see copy of owner letter included with this bulletin).
Owners who have previously had their catalytic converter replaced with Part Number 25056620 should not receive notification or appear on the dealer's computer listing.
Involved vehicles have been identified by Vehicle Identification Number computer listings. Computer listings contain the complete vehicle identification number, owner name and address data, and are furnished to the involved dealers with the campaign bulletin. Owner name and address data furnished will enable dealers to follow-up with owners involved in this campaign.
These computer listings may contain owner names and addresses obtained from State Motor Vehicle Registration Records. The use of such motor vehicle registration data for any other purpose is a violation of the laws in several states. Accordingly, you are urged to limit the use of this listing for the follow-up necessary to complete this campaign.
