Assembly

NOTE: Replace all gaskets seals and retainers, and any diaphragms found defective, when assembling carburetor.

1. Reinstall idle mixture adjusting screw in position outlined in "Idle Mixture Adjustment." Do not install concealment plug or seal mixture screw cavity until idle mixture adjustment has been performed.
2. Install accelerator pump check ball and spring.
3. Install accelerator pump discharge nozzle and screw, using gaskets on top and bottom of nozzle.
4. Install main metering jets, main well tubes and air bleeds, ensuring that primary and secondary bore components are properly positioned.
5. Install throttle position sensor, spring, cover and gasket on accelerator pump diaphragm cover.
6. Mount accelerator pump diaphragm on cover/plunger assembly, then insert retaining screws.
7. Position pump spring and diaphragm cover assembly on carburetor body, start retaining screws, hold pump lever in partially open position to align diaphragm, then tighten retaining screws.
8. Install vacuum break adjusting screw, spring (if used), and diaphragm in diaphragm cover, then insert retaining screws to hold position of diaphragm.
9. Install diaphragm and cover assembly on choke housing ensuring that shaft is properly aligned, then tighten retaining screws.
10. Install spacer washer, fast idle lever, spring washer, bushing and retainer on choke housing, with adjusting screw toward thermostat end of housing, then tighten retaining screw and ensure that lever operates freely.
11. Insert choke housing shaft through housing, mount fast idle cam, spring and retainer, and choke lever on shaft, then install lock washer and nut.
12. Ensure that tang on choke lever is properly engaged over fast idle cam and that stepped portion of cam bears against fast idle adjusting screw, then engage spring over choke lever and under cam and securely tighten nut.
13. Install connecting link between fast idle lever and carburetor throttle lever, position choke housing assembly on carburetor and secure with retaining screws.
14. Manually operate choke housing and throttle levers, ensuring that fast idle lever, cam and choke lever operate properly when housing lever is moved into "choke on" position.
15. Position bowl vent diaphragm/plunger assembly on air horn, then install spring (if used) seal, washer and retaining clip.
16. Install upper diaphragm spring (if used) and bowl vent solenoid, then evenly tighten retaining screws.
17. Install needle seat and gasket in air horn.
18. Install needle valve, float and float hinge pin, then adjust float level and float drop as outlined in "On-Vehicle Adjustments."
19. Position air horn gasket on carburetor body, then install air horn and tighten retaining screws.
20. Install choke rod insulator, if equipped, and the choke rod, then secure rod with retaining clips.
21. Apply light film of oil to new MC solenoid O-ring, then install solenoid and gasket.
22. Install fuel filter spring, filter, gasket and fuel nut, ensuring that filter inlet faces nut, then securely tighten nut.
23. Install idle stop solenoid or SSC actuator (if equipped).
24. Perform vacuum break, fast idle cam and choke unloader adjustments as outlined in "On-Vehicle Adjustments," then install choke thermostat assembly.
25. Install thermostat in position noted during removal and use new retaining screws provided in service kit.
26. Adjust secondary throttle stop screw, as needed, using procedure outlined in "On-Vehicle Adjustments."
