Subject: SPARK PLUG USAGE CHANGE - 1983 1.8L OHC-FI ENGINES (VIN CODE 0)

In January, 1983, a production running change was made on the 1.8L OHC-FI engine. This change replaces the early spark plug R42XLS6 or R44XLS6 at .060" gap, with spark plug R44X LS at .035" gap.

When spark plug replacement is necessary, the R44X LS plug at .035" gap should be used regardless of original plug type.
