Crankshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove timing belt as described under ``Timing Belt, Replace.''
3. Remove crankshaft sprocket bolt, washer and sprocket.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Refer to step 7 under ``Timing Belt, Replace'' and adjust belt tension. Torque crankshaft sprocket bolt to 115 ft. lbs. on 1982---84 models or 107 ft. lbs. on 1985---88 models.
