Subject: LOOSE REAR DECK LID LUGGAGE CARRIER RAIL NUTS -- 1982-1984 6000's AND 2000 SUNBIRDS

ILLUSTRATION OF LID LUGGAGE ASSEMBLY:

Rear deck lid luggage carrier rail nuts may pull out of the deck lid at the rear, outer locations on 1983 and 1984 6000's and 2000 Sunbirds (see illustration). 1983 vehicles used a 5 mm screw/nut and 1984 vehicles used a 6 mm screw/nut at this location..

To repair this condition, replace the nuts with the new luggage carrier jack nuts, Part Number 14007940, for the 6 mm screws and Part Number 1623436 for the 5 mm screws.
