Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove serpentine belt and tensioner, if equipped.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Drain engine oil from crankcase.
5. Remove flywheel housing shield or clutch housing cover as applicable.
6. Remove starter motor and air bracket, as required.
7. Attach suitable lifting equipment to engine. Remove engine mount bracket-to-engine attaching bolts and raise engine slightly.
8. On all models, remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Apply a 1/8 inch bead of RTV sealer to oil pan sealing flange.
