1. Disconnect battery cables from battery and remove air cleaner.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove engine strut bracket from radiator support and swing rearward, as required.
4. Remove AIR pump and bracket, then remove A/C compressor from mounting bracket and place aside, if so equipped.
5. Disconnect vacuum hosing to all non-engine mounted components.
6. Disconnect accelerator cable and detent cable, if so equipped.
7. Disconnect engine harness from ECM and pull connector through front of dash.
8. Disconnect engine harness from junction block at left side of dash panel.
9. Disconnect radiator and heater hoses from engine.
10. Remove power steering pump and bracket assembly from engine, if so equipped.
11. Disconnect fuel lines rubber hose connections at left side of engine compartment.
12. Raise vehicle, remove engine front mount-to-cradle and mount-to-engine bracket retaining nuts at right side of vehicle.
13. Disconnect battery cables from starter motor and transaxle case and remove starter.
14. Remove transaxle inspection cover and on automatic transaxle models, disconnect torque converter flex plate.
15. Remove crankshaft lower pulley and all belts.
16. Disconnect exhaust pipe.
17. Remove lower transaxle-to-engine bolt, located at back side of engine.
18. Disconnect power steering cut-off switch, if so equipped.
19. Remove exhaust cross over pipe, then lower vehicle.
20. Remove remaining transaxle-to-engine bolts. Make note of ground stud location.
21. Place a support under transaxle rear extension. Install suitable lifting device and remove engine.
22. Reverse procedure to install.
