Part I - Service Procedure (Inspection)
FIGURE 1 - DECELERATION VALVE / DATE CODE LOCATION:
1. Raise hood.
2. Inspect deceleration valve for date code (see Figure 1 location).
3. If the date code on the valve is (1154B) or (1174C) it must be replaced as indicated in PART II - SERVICE PROCEDURE (VALVE REPLACEMENT).
4. Deceleration valves with date codes other than those identified in Step 2 are not involved and no further action is required. Install the Campaign Identification label as indicated in PART III - INSTALLATION OF CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL.
PART II - SERVICE PROCEDURE (VALVE REPLACEMENT)
1. Remove vacuum hoses from valve.
2. Remove two screws securing valve to engine bracket and remove valve.
3. Install new valve and tighten screws to engine bracket.
4. Reinstall vacuum hoses.
5. Install Campaign Identification label as indicated in PART III - INSTALLATION OF CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL. (Page 3)
