Delay Wiper - Erratic Timing In Delay Mode

A delay wiper may exhibit erratic timing in the "delay mode" if water drips onto and enters the wiper motor through the cover and/or the wiper terminal area.
The symptoms of water entry can also be:
1. Wiper may or may not park.
2. Washer pump may run continuously.
To correct this condition and prevent recurrence use the following procedure..
1. Allow wiper motor to dry completely.
2. Check the correct wiper operation in all modes after drying.
3. Apply duct tape to connector contacting the housing, connector and wiring as shown in the illustration.
4. Apply RTV sealant to lip of wiper cover as illustrated. Make sure RTV sealant is continuous to where the duct tape touches the housing.
