INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER ASSEMBLY:
CLUSTER ASSEMBLY:
Some early build Fiero vehicles (prior to January 1984) may experience an inoperative condition in the speedometer, or cruise control unit.. This condition may be caused by a loose instrument panel speedometer edge board connector at the base of the cluster assembly. To diagnose the inoperative condition, check for a properly seated connector. If it is not properly seated, a foam gasket should be added to the cluster to remove excess speedometer clearances between the cluster and connector. If the condition still exists and is isolated to the speedometer assembly, after completing the proper diagnosis, the assembly cluster should be sent to an authorized AC-Delco Service Center for repair. Refer to Cluster Replacement Bulletin 84-8-1A, "Quartz Speedometer - 1984 Fiero" for locations of the service centers.
