Reverse Idler Gear

DISASSEMBLY

Refer to above image, and proceed as follows:

1. Remove attaching bolts (94).

2. Remove shift rail (104), gear (103), shaft (102) and bracket (109).

3. Remove shift rail (104) detent ball (106) and spring (107).




INSPECTION

Inspect all components for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace worn or damaged components as required.


ASSEMBLY

Lubricate all components as assembly progresses. Use lubricant No. 12345349 or equivalent.

1. Assemble spring (107), ball (106) in bracket (109).

2. Install shaft (104) into bracket assembly.

3. Install gear (103) onto shaft (102). Slot on gear must face toward threaded hole in shaft (102).

4. Install reverse idler gear assembly.

5. Install bolt (94). Torque attaching bolt to 16 ft lbs.
