200C Lock-up On Top Of 3rd Gear
A 200C uses 3rd gear signal oil for lock-up. If you have a 200C that Locks-up on top of the 2-3 shift, check the following.
Step 1: Drive the car with the lock-up wires disconnected. If the transmission still locks-up in 3rd, you have an internal problem. Take the transmission out of the car.
Step 2: Make sure the solenoid is not restricted. If it's questionable, replace it.
Step 3: Check for a missing or loose cup plug.
Step 4: Flat sand the pump body.
Step 5: Torque the pump halves 15 to 20 ft. lbs.
Note
If the pump or stator support has been machined, the pump bolts may be too long. If so grind the bolt down a little before tightening the pump halves.
