Removal and Replacement

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect detent/T.V. cable from throttle, then remove dipstick and oil filler tube from transmission.

3. Remove detent/T.V. retaining bolt and cable. Plug opening to prevent entry of dirt.

4. Disconnect transmission cooler lines and speedometer cable from transmission.

5. Disconnect shift linkage from selector lever. If equipped with console, remove spring clip and detent cable from transmission bracket.

6. Remove flywheel cover and then the flywheel to converter bolts.

7. Remove propeller shaft.

8. Remove transmission support to transmission mount bolts and transmission support.

9. Raise transmission with a suitable jack and remove support, then lower transmission and remove transmission to engine bolts.

10. Remove transmission being careful not to damage oil cooler lines and detent cable.

11. Reverse procedure to install.
