SUBJECT: 125/125 C INT. BAND ADJUSTMENT

PROBLEM:
Soft or slipping 1-2 shift, no second gear, burned band.

REASON:




Not all band lengths are exactly the same. After installing a new band into case, assemble servo assembly, install the servo cover, and push on end of servo piston (Figure 1).




It has been brought to our attention that if the servo travel is too great, some people are placing spacers, or shims, between the servo cover and the servo piston (A & B, Fig. 2).

CAUTION:
When pushing on servo piston (Figure 1) the total servo travel must not exceed 3/16". At approximately 1/4" travel, the washer on the servo pin (C, Figure 2) will hit the case and prevent further movement. The solid feeling you get is not band application.

SOLUTION:
Install longer servo apply pin.
