A/T - 125/125C Car Creeps Forward After Overhaul
TSB 86-46 (Sept)SUBJECT: 125/125C CLUTCH BACKING PLATES
PROBLEM:
After over-haul, the car creeps forward in neutral
CAUSE:
Incorrect backing plate installed in the forward clutch drum. The forward clutch backing plate should be flat on both sides, as shown in figure.
Some direct clutch backing plate may have a raised side that is always installed away from the dutch plates.
If the direct clutch backing plate is installed in the forward clutch drum, the raised side may contact the front planetary ring gear.
It is possible to produce enough friction at this point to cause the car to move forward in neutral.
