Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment

Fig. 12 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) adjustment:

1. Remove TPS adjustment screw (52), Fig. 4, and apply thread sealing compound to screw.
2. Connect digital voltmeter between terminals B and C of TPS, leaving harness connector in place, Fig. 12. Insert voltmeter probes into rear of connector, ensuring that probes make proper contact with connector terminals.
3. Set fast idle screw on high step of cam.
4. Turn ignition to on position but do not start engine. Install TPS adjusting screw and adjust quickly to obtain voltmeter reading of 0.92 volts.
