A/T - 440T4 Improved Shift Feel/2nd Clutch

SUBJECT: THM 440-T4 - 2ND CLUTCH




It is recommended to use "KOLINE" steel plates when servicing the 2nd clutch to provide a proper "shift feel" for the 1-2 shift. In 1987 the thickness of steel plates was changed and a friction and steel was added for more durability. The part numbers are as follows:

FRICTION PLATES

1984-86 with 5 frictions 8662911 Pkg. of 5
1987-88 with 6 frictions 8662912 Pkg. of 6 Pre-soaked

STEEL PLATES

1984-86 with 5 flat steels .090" 3662309 Pkg. of 5 steels
1987-88 with 6 flat steels .077" 8662006 Pkg. of 6 steels

1984-88 waved steel plate 8658463 Pkg. of 1
