FUEL PUMP EXPLODED VIEW
The fuel pumps used on gasoline engines are attached to the fuel sending unit located in the gas tank. Fuel pump pressure will vary according to the type of engine/fuel system combination used.
The fuel pumps used on diesel engines, delivers fuel to the injection pump and is located in the engine compartment next to the fuel heater, Fig. 3. The pump receives battery current whenever the ignition switch is on ``run'' or ``start'' position. The ground circuit is completed through the pump mounting bracket. Maximum operating current is 3.0 amps. As maximum pressure is reached, it will shut off and return to minimum pressure. Pressure should never drop below 2 psi.
