CHART C-10A - A/C CLUTCH CONTROL

Circuit Description:


With air conditioning "ON," ignition voltage is supplied to the A/C low pressure switch located in the high pressure line (identified by its green color).

If system refrigerant level is OK, the low pressure switch will be closed, completing the circuit through the closed high pressure cut-off switch (red color) to CKT 902.

The pressure cycling switch should be closed if A/C refrigerant pressure is above approximately 172 kPa (26 psi) on low pressure side of system.

CKT 459 supplies voltage to the A/C control relay and the ECM terminal "B8". The ECM will delay about 1/2 second then ground terminal "C2" and CKT 458, This will close the A/C relay and allow current to flow through the relay and CKT 59 to engage the compressor clutch.
