Ignition Coil: Description and Operation

Ignition Coil And Module:

PURPOSE
The Coil Pack creates spark, including waste spark, to ignite the fuel air mixture.

OPERATION
Three separate coils are mounted to the module assembly. Each coil provides the spark for two plugs simultaneously. This is know as waste spark distribution, where one coil fires at the end of the compression stroke and the other on the opposite cylinders exhaust stroke. Each coil can also be replaced separately.
