Subject: PCV VALVE RUBBER ELBOW-LOOSE/DISCONNECTED

1987 6000, GRAND AM AND FIERO MODELS WITH 2.5L L4 ENGINE (VIN CODES R AND U)
Some 1987 6000, Grand Am and Fiero models with 2.5L L4 engines (VIN Code R and U) may experience vacuum leaks and subsequently set a Code 35 in the ECM.

This condition may be caused by a disconnection of the rubber elbow from the PCV valve which could have occurred during vehicle assembly and/or during repair.

If an engine is diagnosed through normal service procedures as having a loose or disconnected PCV valve rubber elbow, install a clamp P/N 10044319, in the location shown (See Diagram). Crimp the clamp with tool J35566 or equivalent.
