Removal and Replacement

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Remove air cleaner assembly, then disconnect all electrical connectors from transaxle.

3. Disconnect shift cable and T.V. cable from transaxle.

4. Remove transaxle cooler line supports.

5. Remove upper transaxle-to-engine attaching bolts.

6. Install suitable engine support fixture (tool No. J-28467 or equivalent).

7. Raise and support vehicle.

8. Remove both rear wheels, then disconnect axle shafts from transaxle.

9. Remove heat shield from catalytic converter.

10. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.

11. Remove engine mount-to-cradle nuts.

12. Support cradle with a suitable jack, then remove rear cradle-to-body attaching bolts.

13. Remove forward cradle-to-body through bolts, then lower cradle and position aside.

14. Remove shields from starter motor and inspection cover.

15. Remove starter motor.

16. Mark relationship of flywheel to converter, then remove flywheel attaching bolts.

17. Disconnect cooler lines from transaxle, then support transaxle with a suitable jack.

18. Remove right side transaxle support bracket bolts.

19. Remove lower transaxle-to-engine attaching bolts, then carefully lower transaxle from vehicle.

20. Reverse procedure to install.
