Engine - Poor Cold Driveability/Stalling

Subject: STAY RUNNING ON INITIAL COLD START, OR INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT STAY RUNNING ON DECEL
1986-87 GRAND AM MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 3.0L MFI ENGINES (VIN CODE L)
Some 1986 and 1987 Grand Am models equipped with a 3.0L MFI engine (VIN Code L) may experience one or more of the following conditions:
^ Poor cold driveability (tip-in sags, hesitations, rough idle).
^ Will not stay running on the initial start when the engine is cold (with proper fuel pressure and no leak down).
^ Engine intermittently will not stay running on decel or during parking lot maneuvers, under closed throttle conditions.
If any of these conditions are experienced on a vehicle when the basic engine, controls and systems are performing properly, and cannot be repaired by using currently published service and diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to install a new service PROM.
