Output Shaft Support Bearing Selective Shim Procedure

Refer to Fig. 27 for output shaft support bearing selective shim chart.
A dial depth gauge or equivalent, is required to conduct the following procedure. Also, ensure output bearing (86) is completely seated in its bore. Ensure bearing retainer (88) is properly torqued. A selected shim can be 0.001 inch above, or 0.004 inch below the end plate mounting surface.
1. Measure distance between end plate mounting surface and outer race of output shaft bearing (86).
2. Select an appropriate shim for selective shim chart, Fig. 27.
