Engine Front Cover Oil Seal Replace

REMOVAL
1. Remove crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer / Service and Repair. Service and Repair

CAUTION Be careful not to damage the crankshaft.

2. Remove front cover oil seal.

NOTE Pry out seal with a suitable tool such as a large screwdriver. Refer to instructions supplied with replacement part.

3. Inspect crankshaft and front cover for scratches.

Front Cover Aligner And Oil Seal Installer:

INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install seal in front cover with lip facing the engine using J 35468.
3. Install crankshaft balancer and torque retaining bolt to 103 Nm (76 lb. ft.).
4. Inspect for leaks.
