The front suspension, Fig. 1, used on 1988 models features several improvements over the design used on earlier models. In conjunction with the elimination of the steering damper assembly, a larger stabilizer bar is used. Additionally, both the king pin angle and scrub radius have been reduced. Other notable changes include the use of a shorter spindle and an increase in both upper and lower control arm lengths. Besides producing lighter steering effort and a smoother ride, the redesigned suspension also results in a shorter turning radius.
