Disassembly

Refer to Figs. 19 through 21 for synchronizer assemblies.

1. Place 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th and 5th speed synchronizer assemblies in separate, clean shop towels. Wrap assemblies and press against inner hub.

Inspection

Inspect assemblies for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace worn and/or damaged components as required.

Assembly

Refer to Fig. 19 for 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly installation procedure. Refer to Fig. 20 for 3rd/4th gear synchronizer assembly installation procedure. Refer to Fig. 21 for 5th gear synchronizer assembly installation procedure. Ensure to correctly follow installation procedures described or synchronizer failure and/or damage will result.
