Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column cover, then flex joint bolt.
3. Remove two lower support to steering column attaching bolts, then two upper support to steering column attaching bolts.
4. Disconnect steering column electrical connectors.
5. Remove steering column from vehicle.
Installation
1. Install steering column, then connect steering shaft at flex joint and install bolt.
2. Connect electrical connectors, then loosely install steering column to support attaching nuts and bolts, Fig. 18.
3. Center steering shaft within steering column jacket bushing, then torque lower steering column to support attaching bolts to 14 lb ft
4. Torque upper attaching bolts to specifications, then lower attaching nuts, Fig. 18.
5. Torque flex joint bolt to 35 lb ft
6. Install steering column cover.
7. Connect battery ground cable.
