Wiring Diagram for EGR Vacuum Control.:
CODE 32
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) CIRCUIT
Circuit Description:
A solenoid operated by the ECM controls vacuum to the EGR valve. The solenoid is normally closed and the ECM provides a ground circuit, pulsing open for EGR operation. When the EGR should be open the ECM tests the system by shutting off the EGR. This should cause a lean condition and an increase in the fuel integrator rate. The ECM checks the fuel increase and determines if the test was good or bad.
Diagnostic Aids:
If no trouble is found but a code 32 was set, a stuck EGR valve or an intermittent electrical problem is the cause. The vacuum switch in the solenoid assembly is not used. An EGR valve open at idle will cause rough running.
