1. Raise and support front of vehicle. Support vehicle on suitable jackstands.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect stabilizer bar from control arm.
4. Install modified outer seal protector J28712 or equivalent.
5. Remove ball joint retaining clip and stud nut, then separate ball joint from steering knuckle using tool No. J36226 or equivalent. Disregard ``This Side Towards Wheel'' marking on tool. Tool must be turned to opposite position when used on these vehicles.
6. Remove control arm attaching bolts and the control arm.
7. If necessary, replace control arm bushings as shown in Figs. 4 through 7.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attachments to the following specifications with weight of vehicle supported by control arms: stabilizer bar bushing nut, 13 ft.lbs; control arm rear attaching bolts, 90 ft.lbs; control arm front attaching bolt, 140 ft.lbs; ball joint nut, 51 ft.lbs
