Removal
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Insert drift or screwdriver into caliper to prevent rotor from turning, Fig. 7.
3. Remove hub nut and washer using hub nut socket tool No. J-34826 and discard the shaft nut,Fig. 7.
4. Remove brake caliper from steering knuckle and suspend caliper assembly.
5. Remove rotor from hub and bearing assembly.
6. Remove stabilizer shaft from control arm.
7. Remove ball joint from steering knuckle.
8. Install drive axle seal protector J-34754 or equivalent on drive axle.
9. Using axle shaft remover tool No. J-33008 with extension J-29794 on slide hammer, remove drive axle from transaxle, then vehicle, Fig. 1.
10. Remove drive axle from hub and bearing assembly using puller No. J-28733, Fig. 8.

Installation
1. Install drive axle into hub and bearing assembly, then the transmission.
2. Install the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle and torque ball joint pinch bolt to 33 lb ft
3. Install the stabilizer shaft to the control arm.
4. Install caliper to steering knuckle, then install washer and a new torque prevailing shaft nut.
5. Insert a screwdriver or drift into caliper and rotor to prevent rotor from turning, Fig. 7.
6. Install hub nut, torque to 185 lb ftFig. 7.
7. Seat the drive axle into the transaxle by placing a screwdriver into the groove on the joint housing and tapping until seated, then grasp the inner housing and pull outward. If the snap ring is properly seated, the axle will remain in place, Fig. 2.
8. Install tire and wheel assembly and lower vehicle.
