Rear Suspension Strut

Fig. 7 Replacing Strut. AWD Models:

1. Open rear compartment lid, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel assembly, then install spring compressor No. J-33432 on leaf spring to support control arm.
3. Remove outer toe link end from lower strut mount assembly, then parking brake cable from strut mount bracket.
4. Remove parking brake cable bracket, then bolts from lower strut mount to knuckle assembly.
5. Remove ELC air hose, then upper strut attaching nut.
6. Release spring tension at spring compressor, then remove strut, Fig. 7.
7. Reverse procedure to install, torquing bolts/nuts to specifications.
