Slipping 1-2 Shift

1. Check for low oil level.

2. Check spacer plate and gaskets for damaged or incorrectly installed gaskets.

3. Inspect accumulator valve for the following:

a. Valve sticking in valve body causing low 1-2 accumulator pressure.

b. Weak or missing spring.

4. Inspect 1-2 accumulator piston for the following:

a. Leaking seal, spring broken or missing.

b. Leak between piston and pin.

c. Binding piston.

d. Damaged piston bore.

5. Inspect intermediate band apply pin for the following:

a. Incorrect selection of apply pin.

b. Excessive leakage between apply pin and case.

c. Apply pin feed hole not completely drilled.

6. Inspect intermediate servo assembly for the following:

a. Porosity in piston.

b. Damaged or missing cover to servo oil seal ring.

c. Leak between servo apply pin and case.

7. Check for improperly adjusted throttle valve cable.

8. Check for binding throttle valve, causing low throttle valve pressure.

9. Check for binding throttle valve limit valve.

10. Check for sticking line bias valve, causing low line pressure.

11. Check for worn or burned intermediate band.

12. Inspect case for porosity in 2nd clutch passage.
