Disc Parking Brake


1. Release parking brake lever, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove rear wheels then install lug nuts on two opposite wheel studs to hold brake rotor in position.
3. Back caliper pistons into bores.
4. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nut until there is no tension on parking brake shoes.
5. Turn each brake rotor until parking brake shoe star adjuster is visible through hole in rotor.
6. Adjusting one side at a time, tighten adjuster until rotor cannot be turned by hand, then back star wheel off 5 to 7 notches. Adjust parking brake shoes by inserting a suitable tool through hole in rotor. On drivers side, tighten adjuster by moving handle of tool upwards. On passenger side, tighten adjuster by moving handle of tool downward.
7. Install rear wheels and pull parking lever up two notches.
8. Tighten cable adjusting nut at equalizer until there is drag on wheels.
9. Release parking brake lever and check adjustment. No drag should be felt when rotating wheels.
