Idle Air Control Valve Assembly:
NOTE: If installing a new IAC valve, measure the distance between the tip of the pintle and the mounting surface.
^ If greater than 28 mm, use finger pressure to slowly retract the pintle. The force required to retract the pintle of a new valve will not cause damage to the valve.
4. Install the IAC valve assembly with a new gasket.
5. Using a socket or box wrench on the valve hex, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb.ft).
6. Install throttle body onto the engine.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Reset the IAC valve pintle position:
a. Depress the accelerator slightly.
b. START and run the engine for five seconds.
c. Turn the ignition OFF for ten seconds.
d. RESTART the engine and check for proper idle operation.
