Compressor Replacement

Compressor Mounting - 2.0L(VIN M):

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Discharge A/C system.
3. Serpentine drive belt.
4. Hoist vehicle.
5. Splash shield bolts.
6. Compressor/condenser hose assembly and discard the O-ring seals.
7. 2 bolts at rear mounting bracket.
8. Pressure switch and clutch connectors from compressor.
9. 4 front compressor mounting bolts and nut.
10. Compressor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Compressor and 4 front mounting bolts.
2. 2 rear compressor mounting bolts and nut.

CAUTION: Any repair to the A/C compressor or the A/C belt system will require loosening some A/C bracket bolts. To prevent future torque loss after retightening of these bolts, the bolt or stud should be replaced with an appropriate new bolt or stud OR apply Loctite� 242 or equivalent to the bolt or stud threads. Follow the package instructions for best retention.

3. Pressure switch and clutch connectors to compressor.
4. Compressor/condenser hose assembly using new O-ring seals.
5. Splash shield bolts.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Serpentine drive belt.
8. Negative battery cable.
9. Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
