Front Toe Adjustment


FRONT

1. Remove small seal clamps.
2. With steering wheel in straight ahead position, loosen jam nuts on tie rods.
3. Rotate inner tie rod to obtain proper toe angle, then ensure that number of threads showing on each tie rod is approximately equal.
4. Ensure tie rod ends are square, then Torque jam nuts to 46 ft. lbs.
5. Ensure seals are not twisted and install seal clamps.

REAR

1989-90

1. Loosen inboard cam nuts of rear support rod.
2. Rotate cam to obtain proper toe angle, Fig. 1.
3. Torque cam nuts to 140 ft. lbs.

1991-92
1. Install rear toe adjusting tool No. J-38118, or equivalent, after lubricating threads.
2. Hand tighten turnbuckle portion of tool in direction of adjustment. Equal amounts of threads should be showing on both sides of turnbuckle.
3. Loosen rear rod nut at crossmember a minimum of four turns.
4. Rotate turnbuckle portion of tool to reach correct toe specification.
5. Torque rear rod to crossmember nut to 81 ft. lbs. plus an additional 60° turn.
6. Remove tool.
