Fig. 17, Transaxle case components:

Refer to Fig. 17 for transaxle case components and special tool usage application.

Tools J-26938, J-35823, J-36029, J-36030, J-36034, J-36039, J-36189 and J-36190 are required to conduct the following procedure.

1. Install bearing (97) using tools J-36189 and J-36190.
2. Install seal (208) using tool J-36029 (place the new bushing on the 2nd adapter and retain between the 1st and 2nd tool parts and tool J-36190.
3. Install bushings (99) using tools J-36029 and J-36190.
4. Install bushing (98) using tool J-36030 and J-36190.
5. Install outer race (59) using tool J-26938.
6. Install axle seal (23) using tool J-26938.
7. Install plugs (204). When installing, ensure plugs are even with transaxle case assembly.
8. Install bushings (96) using tool J-36039 and J-36190.
9. Install bushing (95) using tool J-36034 and J-36190.
10. Install detent lever (145).
11. Install sleeve (207), spring (206) and attaching screw (205). Torque attaching screw to 32 ft. lbs.
12. Install plug (209) and snap ring (210), with flat side facing upward.
13. Install stud (211), chamfer end facing outward. Torque stud to 15 ft. lbs.
14. Install back-up lamp switch assembly. Torque to 7 ft. lbs.
