1. Remove six screws attaching steering column trim cover to instrument panel.
2. Remove two screws attaching steering column trim cover to left hand instrument panel sound insulator, then remove trim cover.
3. Remove instrument panel sound insulators as shown in Fig. 114.
4. On models with A/C, remove heater outlet.
5. On all models, open glove box door and disconnect stop strap clip from glove box compartment.
6. Remove four screws attaching glove box compartment to instrument panel.
7. Pull glove box compartment rearward to remove.
8. Remove right side instrument panel trim cover attaching screws, Fig. 115.
9. Pull trim cover rearward and disconnect all necessary electrical connectors.
10. Remove three screws attaching heater and A/C control to the instrument panel.
11. Pull control out far enough to disconnect control cables, electrical connectors and vacuum lines.
12. Remove screw attaching hood release cable handle to hood release cable and remove handle.
13. Unscrew nut holding cable to instrument panel, then pull cable forward through instrument panel to remove.
14. Remove two upper, and one lower steering column attaching bolts.
15. Remove two lower corner instrument panel retaining nuts.
16. Remove defroster grille by pulling upward and removing four upper instrument panel retaining screws.
17. Pull instrument panel assembly out far enough to disconnect speedometer cable and electrical connectors from ignition switch, headlamp dimmer switch and turn signal switch, Fig. 116.
18. Disconnect front end and engine harness from bulkhead connector in engine compartment, then remove bulkhead connector from cowl.
19. Remove instrument panel from the vehicle.
20. Reverse procedure to install.
