Some 1988-89 Sunbirds may have hood bolts that have insufficient loctite and could loosen. This will allow the hood to have a loose wobbly feel when opened. This condition has been corrected in production at the following VIN breakpoints:

LE 1G2JB11K8K7594520 4/14/89 Lordstown
SE 1G2JD11KXK7598224 4/22/89 Lordstown
GT 1G2JU11M4K7598219 4/14/89 Lordstown

To repair this condition, install new hinge pivot bolts, part number 22548097. Parts are currently available through GMSPO. Refer to the illustration for identification (the new bolt has a hex head).
