1. Remove camshaft carrier cover attaching bolts, then remove carrier cover.
2. Remove rocker arm and hydraulic valve lash adjuster for cylinder being serviced as described under ROCKER ARMS AND HYDRAULIC VALVE LASH ADJUSTERS.
3. Remove spark plug, then position adapter J-22794 or equivalent into spark plug hole. Connect a suitable compressed air source to adapter to hold valve in position.
4. Using tool No. J-33302-25 or equivalent, Fig. 7, compress valve springs and remove valve locks, caps, springs, spring washers, exhaust valve rotators and valve stem oil seals, Fig. 8.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate valve stem oil seal with engine oil prior to installation. When installing valve stem oil seal, use a suitable plastic sleeve to position seal over valve stem.
