Fig. 15 Exploded View Of Oil Pump Assembly:

1. Lubricate all components with engine oil and pack pump all cavities with petroleum jelly prior to assembly.
2. Position gears in pump body, with gear mark facing timing cover, Fig. 15.
3. Install pump cover and gasket, then install and tighten attaching bolts to torque listed under SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS/TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS.
4. Install pressure regulator valve and spring, then install plug and torque to specification listed under SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS/TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS. Prior to installing plug, coat threads with Loctite 573 or equivalent.
5. Install pump pickup tube and screen.
