Thermac Air Cleaner - Wax Pellet Operated:

TEST DESCRIPTION:

This is a functional check for the TAC System.

1. Inspect that the heat stove tube is connected.
2. Check that the damper door moves freely.
3. Check that the damper door tension spring is attached, and the wax pellet actuator is moving the damper door.
4. Inspect for the presence of an air cleaner gasket.
5. With the air cleaner assembly installed, engine not running, the damper door should be closed to outside air when the engine is cold.
6. Start the engine and watch the air cleaner snorkel. When the engine is cold, the damper door should be closed to outside air. As the wax pellet actuator warms up, the damper door should open slowly to outside air.
