1. Open rear compartment lid, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove both wheel assemblies, then loosen parking brake cable at tensioner.
3. Remove parking brake cable ends at spindle brackets, then parking brake springs, bracket bolts and brackets.
4. Separate parking brake cable at tensioner, then remove calipers. Suspend caliper with wire.
5. Remove anti-lock sensor bolts, then position sensors aside, if equipped.
6. Disconnect ELC electrical connections and air lines, then height sensor arm from bracket stud.
7. Remove bolts securing brake line/ELC sensor bracket to lefthand control arm, then exhaust support bolt (above frame).
8. Scribe propeller shaft and rear axle pinion flange, then remove propeller shaft from rear axle pinion flange.
9. Remove frame brace to underbody bracket bolts, then install spring compressor No. J-33432 on leaf spring to support control arm.
10. Place transmission jack under rear module, then install bolts into existing jacking plate bores.
11. Lower vehicle, then remove strut upper mount bolts.
12. Raise and support vehicle, then loosen spring compressor to release spring tension. Remove spring compressor.
13. Remove four frame mounting bolts, then lower module assembly slightly to disconnect differential vent tube.
14. Remove rear module from vehicle, Fig. 10.
15. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure scribe marks are align on propeller shaft and rear axle pinion flange.
b. Torque all bolts/nuts to specifications.
