Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Relay: Description and Operation

Electric cooling fans operate when engine coolant temperature exceeds a certain value. The ECM will complete the ground for the coolant fan relay when it monitors engine temperature above a certain value or when the A/C is turned "ON." Also the A/C pressure sensor completes the path to ground for the coolant fan relay when A/C pressure exceeds 260 psi.
