This service bulletin is to emphasize the proper care required to remove or install the automatic transmission shift control cable per Section 7A of the applicable service manual.





When removing or installing the shift control cable (2) from the shift control bracket (3), do NOT bend or twist the molded end. The molded end must be inserted or pulled out straight from the shift control bracket (3).

Failure to follow the above precautions may damage the shift control cable (2).

After the installation of the shift control cable (2), inspect for any damage to the cable.
