Idle Air/Vacuum Signal Housing
Model B130 Throttle Body Assembly:
REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the vacuum connections at the idle air/vacuum signal housing.
3. Disconnect the IAC valve electrical connector.
4. Remove the IAC valve assembly.
5. Remove the idle air/vacuum signal assembly screws.
6. Remove the idle air/vacuum signal housing and gasket, discard the gasket.
NOTE: Use care when cleaning old gasket material from machined aluminum surfaces. Sharp tools may damage sealing surfaces.
INSTALLATION:
Idle Air/Vacuum Signal Housing Screw Tightening Sequence:
1. Install a new idle air/vacuum signal assembly gasket.
2. Position the idle air/vacuum signal housing assembly in place.
3. Install the attaching screws and tighten in order, as shown, to 3.0 Nm (27.0 lb.in).
Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve:
NOTE: If installing a new IAC valve, measure the distance between the tip of the IAC valve pintle and mounting flange.
^ If greater than 28 mm, use finger pressure to slowly retract the pintle. The force required to retract the pintle of a new valve will not cause damage to the valve.
4. Lubricate the IAC valve O-ring with clean engine oil.
5. Install the IAC valve assembly.
6. Install the IAC valve attaching screws, and tighten to 3.0 Nm (27.0 lb.in).
7. Connect the IAC valve electrical connector.
8. Connect the vacuum connections.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Reset the IAC valve pintle position:
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine OFF).
b. Ground the diagnostic "test" terminal for five seconds.
c. Remove the ground.
d. Turn the ignition OFF for ten seconds.
e. Start the engine and check for proper idle operation.
